History of Flight in Vermont:
Below is a chronology of important dates in the history or air transportation in Vermont.
The first flight in Vermont took place at the St. Johnsbury fair on September 24, 1910.
During WWI and the inter-war years, a number or airfields were constructed in Vermont. The following list provides dates for a number of these airfields.

Central Vermont Airways Inc. operates its first flight between Boston and Montpelier in October 27, 1933. This was the first regular airline service in Vermont. Service was discontinued on Feb. 28, 1937. Route was taken over by National Airways. Below are the cover images of flight timetables for the airline during its service in the 1930s.

In 1921, Burlington established a municipal airport. The evolution of Burlington's airport is detailed in the chronological list below.

The Vermont Air National Guard formed on July 1, 1946. The charter group of 27 WWII veterans met in the "little red brick schoolhouse" near the site of the present-day General Aviation hangars on Airport Drive.
