Athletics
During the 1920s, advertisers associated their products with an enjoyment of the outdoors. Women in particular were often depicted participating in athletic events. The advertisements for Atlantic Gasoline, seen below, illustrate the modern woman enjoying golf, archery, and swimming. The ad uses key words (balance, quick-start, and stamina) to relate the product to the activities.
