Ford Model T Mail Truck
In 1921, the Post Office Department began to regulate its fleet. They focused on three car companies for the design of their vehicles: Ford Motor Company, Commerce, and White Motor Company. Ford trucks eventually became the dominant vehicle in the fleet.
The image below, the Snowbird, is a 1921 Ford Model T Mail Truck with interchangeable skis and rear ties with tank-like treads. This type of truck is suitable for winter climates, like Vermont, and was probably in use throughout the 1920s and maybe into the 1930s.
