Bay
The bay window gained popularity during the Victorian era and is found frequently on Gothic Revival, Italianate, French Second Empire, and Queen Anne style houses from the 1860s through the 1890s. As can be seen in the images below, Victorian era bay windows often featured additional lavish decoration, including brackets and moldings. The type of window panes found in bay windows often reflect other popular window types of the era. For example, a Queen Anne bay window from the 1890s may feature 1/1 sash windows or large picture windows. Therefore, it may be necessary to read up on the other window styles before narrowing the date.
