- Description:
- The historic photograph shows a wooden bridge over a stream. A handwritten inscription on the right side of the photograph reads, "Clarendon, Former Road Now Brook." The road washed away, and this brook now follows the old roadbed. The streambed is full of boulders in the foreground of the photograph. Wood planks have been set up as a footbridge across the stream. A wooden fence lines the bridge and road. A car is exiting the bridge towards a house on the left side of the image. The bridge was eventually washed away in the 1927 flood. There appears to be a clearing beyond the bridge and a forested hill on the right side of the image.

- The new photograph shows the same brook in the summer approximately 75 years later. There is no bridge or boulders in the new photograph, but cement buttresses are visible along the banks of the river, through the trees. The riparian zone is forested in the foreground of the image. There is a grassy clearing along the stream in the background of the photograph.
