This three-mile section was designed by the Vermont Department of highways under the direction of Highway engineer G.M. Lane and Bridge Engineer L.M. Bjorn to combine esthetic appeal and safety measures with such skills that this highway enhances rather than detracts from the beautify of the surrounding Vermont countryside. The project, constructed by Perini Corporation of Framingham, Massachusetts, was opened to traffic on November 10, 1967. (Credit: Photo by Vermont Department of Highway.)"
