Art Deco
Art Deco became a popular architectural style in the late 1920s and1930s and played a significant role in the design of roadside architecture. Art Deco embraces the machine aesthetic. Repetitive, geometric motifs, such as zigzags, stepped forms, or pointed sunbursts, dominate this style. The images below are exemplary of the Art Deco style gas stations produced in the 1930s.
