Sunoco
The Sun Oil Company of Ohio formed in 1890 and opened their first Sunoco brand service station in 1920. The original logo featured the Sunoco name on a simple diamond shape.

Sunoco expanded into the eastern United States in the 1930s. An arrow was added to the logo, horizontally cutting through the diamond-shaped background.

In 1962, the logo evolved into the design still used by the company today. The arrow was turned on a diagonal, and the lettering was accentuated.
